Area guide

Panama City Beach

Gulf-front condos and resort living

About the area

Panama City Beach is the long strip of white sand most people picture when they think of this coast. Front Beach Road runs right behind the dunes, lined with condo towers at the east end and older beach houses and low-rise places as you head west.

Buyers come here for three things: a condo they can rent out when they are not using it, a second home near the water, or a full-time house a few blocks back where the prices are easier. Tell us which one you are and we will narrow it down quickly.

The lay of the land

The beach sits on a barrier strip in Bay County, with the Gulf on one side and Grand Lagoon and West Bay behind it. St. Andrews State Park is at the east end, across the pass from Shell Island. Pier Park is the main shopping and dining area, toward the west. Highway 79 takes you north to the airport (ECP), and the Hathaway Bridge takes you east into Panama City.
