Area guide

Panama City

Bay County homes and waterfront

About the area

Panama City is the town across the bridge from the beach, and it is where a lot of people who work on this coast actually live. You get more house for the money, real neighborhoods, and water on almost every side.

It suits buyers who want a year-round home more than a rental. Historic St. Andrews and the downtown waterfront have both seen a lot of new life, and the bayfront streets hold some of the nicest older homes in the county.

The lay of the land

The city wraps around St. Andrews Bay and is the county seat of Bay County. The Hathaway Bridge connects it to Panama City Beach on the west side. Highway 231 heads north out of town, and Tyndall Air Force Base lies to the southeast. Lynn Haven and Callaway are separate cities that run straight into it.
